Britney & K-Fed's Secret Custody Battle
The pair are said to be keen to avoid their case going to trial and so – along with Brit's ever-present father Jamie and their respective lawyers – holed up for a day in a 5-star hotel to try and hammer out a deal.
However.things didn't go well with both sides refusing to give an inch, reports OK!.
On Tuesday Britney regained overnight visitation rights with her boys Sean Preston and Jayden James.
And, for now, it looks like the singer's August trial showdown with K-Fed is still on.

Simmons: 'Kiss are like herpes'
Simmons claimed the group is impossible to get rid of like the viral disease.
"Trends come, fashion comes. But we don't go away. We're like herpes," he told the Daily Star.
Speaking about the possibility of the band recording new material, Simmons commented: "There is no record industry around so we're going to wait until everybody settles down and becomes civilised.
"As soon as the record industry pops its head up, we'll record new material."
Kiss headlined the Download Festival last weekend.

Cowell to produce Potts Hollywood film
The former Carphone Warehouse salesman became the unlikely star of the TV talent show with his performance of opera classic 'Nessun Dorma'.
His story is to get the big screen treatment after Paramount Pictures snapped up the rights to his story, according to Variety magazine.
In response to the film news Cowell said: "This company got that it's another Billy Elliot, a story anyone in the world can understand."
Talking about Potts Britain's Got Talent story he said: "This was his last chance and he literally decided to enter based on the toss of a coin. And despite his success off the back of the show, the only difference I see in him is that he got his teeth fixed."
The 37-year-old Welsh singer has sold three million copies of his debut album 'One Chance'.
Anne Hathaway - Hathaways Get Smart Kissing Scene Ruined By Conjunctivitis Scare
ANNE HATHAWAY sparked a conjunctivitis scare on the set of new film GET SMART after realising she was suffering from pinkeye during a snotty kissing scene with co-star STEVE CARELL.
The actress just thought she had a slight cold and didn't realise that the germs she was passing on during a pivotal romance scene was actually a nasty eye infection.
She recalls, "There was a health scare last year where a certain contact lens solution gave you conjunctivitis.
"I won't say the name of it, but it was the one that I used, and I had a sinus infection at the same time.
"I had to go up to Steve with my red and puffy eyes, dripping green; I am just snotty and I'm just like, 'Come here.'
"The worst thing was we didn't know that I had conjunctivitis at the time so I had to call our producer that night and say, 'Yeah, you might want to call Steve and let him know I had pinkeye and my tears kind of got in my mouth when we kissed, so he might want to worry about that!'"
But despite the snotty kiss, Hathaway was thrilled to get the chance to make out with one of her favourite funnymen.
She adds, "Making out with him is like the yummiest lollipop, dipped in sunshine and wrapped in a masculine wrapper! That's the only way I can think to describe it."

Strike Negotiations Marred By Union In-fighting
An actors strike this summer (08) is looking more likely than ever after bosses of the two main unions turned on one another.
Actors are threatening walkouts at the end of June (08) if talks between the unions and major film studios fail to resolve a dispute over pay and conditions.
But now a bitter feud has broken out between the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), whose members appear in night time TV and film, and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), with members including daytime TV stars and radio personalities.
The two unions' executives severed ties back in March (08), with each organisation attempting to negotiate their own deal with film and TV studio chiefs.
And now SAG bosses have infuriated their counterparts at AFTRA by asking them to hold back on negotiations until they have fixed their deal - with AFTRA threatening legal action if the other union tries to "undermine or interfere with our ratification process".
AFTRA members are set to vote on a new deal later this month (Jun08).
